Being controlled by the Spirit

Scriptural reference: 1 Samuel 16:12-13: Acts 1:8

The Deeper Question: You receive the Holy Spirit when you receive Christ (Rom. 8:9), but you do not automatically experience the spirit’s fullness. What specific steps can you take today to live your life controlled by the Spirit?

You have to stay plugged in. You have to guard your heart, spirit and mind. Keep your mind stayed on Him. Read His Word everyday, pray everyday. Ask the spirit to lead you for that day. Ask the spirit to take control of your thoughts. Ask God to create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you. To be controlled by the Spirit you have to humble yourself and bow down to God. You have to say not my will, but your will Father. The Spirit can’t control your life if you are doing what you want to do. You have to be willing. You have to yield yourself and allow the spirit to take control. You need to surrender everything to Him. Have a desire to be like Christ, to walk in the fruits of the Spirit. Have a desire to serve.
